Christmas and New Years Eve 2011

We had a great holiday season- minus the flu that we all pretty much had. Luckily Maverick never got it and Dan and I got the worst of it a few days before Christmas. Unfortunately though, most of my family from CA that visited got it too.
We were fortunate to be able to spend Christmas eve with Dan's family and Christmas day with mine. Mav of course was the center of attention. He was totally spoiled- naturally. I was able to go snow boarding with my sister and bro-in-law and cousins while my aunt and uncle and other cousin baby sat Mav.
Then for New Years Eve Dan and I had an adult night out for the first time since Mav was born. We went on the CDA Rock'n Boat Cruise and stayed overnight in CDA while the in-laws watched Mav. We had a lot of fun!
But felt horrible the next day- not from hangovers but because Mav didn't have a great night due to coming down with a cold. His poor voice was so hoarse and you could see that it hurt him when he coughed. The guilt set in that we went out for our selfish drinking pleasure while our baby boy had a bad night. We just now are getting over the cold too.
All in all the holidays went well and so fast! Having Maverick this year for Christmas was the highlight of the season though.

Its official!

Well, Friday we put our house on the market. We are starting the first major step to moving to the west side of the state. We are excited that Dan got a nice promotion, but we're sad at the same time, as we are moving away further from our families. The best things about this move is that Dan will be home every night, and I will get to work part time. Let's just hope that our house sells fast.

Missing Dan!

Dan was gone almost a straight week this last week. He went fishing for 3 days during the weekend to bring the trailor home, then turned around and went to Las Vegas for another 3 days for work. Since we've had Maverick I look forward to him coming home even more now. It's nice to have the help for making dinner and even just getting a small break because you can only entertain Maverick for so long when you've been with him all day AND night. Especially, since he has to be the center of attention or he is not the happiest baby. (I'm not complaining though, because I love giving it to him).
